A wonderful mixed metals bracelet from the Victorian era! Made of sterling silver, this stylish piece has a rose gold border on the front that lines the top and bottom edges. The center of the bangle is comprised of a pattern of raised beadwork that is lightly hammered, resembling "cut steel" studs to some extent. Very fine beadwork rests in between each larger stud, adding further depth and texture to the design. The reverse side of the piece is left simple and smooth. The bangle is hinged and opens at a push clasp at the side, which is hallmarked with the maker's initials "S&S Sta." When worn, it makes a fashionable statement that could be worn alone or stacked with other complimentary bangles for a layered look. This Victorian era piece makes a?fashionable everyday accessory for the modern day woman!
Measurements: The interior of the bracelet (where a wrist would rest) measures 2 1/4" wide and 2" tall, and would fit nicely on a medium/average sized wrist. The surface of the bracelet measures approximately 3/4" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the sterling silver setting or rose gold accents. All of the beadwork studs are intact. The hinge is snug and the push clasp fastens securely. There is a natural patina on the surface of the bracelet that gives a slightly darkened antique appearance to the silver setting. This is normal for Victorian era jewelry and adds depth and character to the antique design.?
