This piece was made for the exhibition Hidden Histories(2020) at Narryna House Museum which is part of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery in Hobart. The chatelaine was a device worn from the waist on which useful items were hung (e.g. small scissors, a button hook, perfume container, note book). It was a predecessor of the handbag.
